Vakar Jēkabpilī, Zemgales ielas un Draudzības alejas krustojumā, pagaidām nenoskaidrota automašīna notrieca gājēju, 1968.gadā dzimušu vīrieti, un aizbrauca no notikuma vietas. Cietušais gājējs ar kājas traumu nogādāts slimnīcā.

Zemgales ielas un Draudzibas alejas krustojums ir viens no bīstamākajiem Jēkabpilī, kur bieži notiek satiksmes negadījumi. Krustojums ir vāji apgaismots un netiek regulēts.

Kā informē Valsts policijas Sabiedrisko attiecību nodaļā, kopumā pagājušajā diennaktī Latvijā reģistrēti 49 ceļu satiksmes negadījumi, kuros cietuši pieci cilvēki. Rīgas reģionā reģistrētas 27 avārijas, kurās cietuši četri cilvēki.

Ceļu policijas darbinieki pagājušajā diennaktī Latvijā aizturējuši 14 autovadītājus, kuru organismā alkohola koncentrācija pārsniegusi atļauto normu. Rīgas reģionā par braukšanu reibumā aizturēti desmit autovadītāji.
